Students and public Invited to second annual Big Band Dance Friday, March 18. Admission is $3 or one non-perishable food item.

For admission, students and the public are invited to bring one non-perishable item or $3, with proceeds going to Ministry on the Margins charity in Bismarck. This New York-themed Big Band Dance is Friday, March 18, from 7 to 11 p.m. in the Leach Field House on campus. The event features live music from the University of Mary jazz combo of David Cicha, Hannah Heinze and Rachel Goettle, Mandan; Thomas Mortenson, Jamestown; Brenden Jacobson, Isaac Schwartz and Samuel Kroll, Bismarck.

“The MSO realized that many of our peers at the University of Mary enjoy swing dancing, so we decided to provide live music for a dance,” said Jessica Vandal, a freshman music education major from Jamestown who is helping coordinate the event. “This is the second year we’ve had the dance for students, but MSO wanted to open it up to Bismarck-Mandan residents and give the proceeds to a charity so our community can benefit from this fun event.”
