BISMARCK, ND — Jonathan Hofer of Rapid City, S.D., was recognized with the University of Mary Alumni Association’s Outstanding Senior Award for 2015 at the university’s annual President’s Recognition Breakfast Saturday, May 2.
Hofer is a biology major at the university and is the son of Lonny and Linda Hofer.
Each year, the teaching faculty at the University of Mary nominates members of the graduating class for this prestigious award, based on their academic achievement, service to the university and to the community. The Alumni Council Board then selects the recipient from these nominees.
Hofer has a 4.0 grade point average and has been named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He has served as a Student Senator at Mary, a member of the Knights of Virtue and as president of the university’s Outdoor Club, which he created.
In campus life, he has taken part in theater performances, intramural sports, and volunteers in numerous student organizations, including the Math and Science Association, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Campus Ministry Liturgy and many more.
