Henjum, associate professor of voice at the University of Mary since 2003, is retiring at the end of this semester. She received an M.F.A. in vocal performance from the University of Iowa. Henjum is a past winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in New York and awarded a career grant from the National Institute for Opera. She made her New York recital debut at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, having won the prestigious Joy in Singing Competition.
“As I will be retiring at the end of this school year, it makes this final performance extra special for me,” said Henjum. “Working with these students on this repertoire has been an absolute joy, full of hard work and laughter.”
The program is free and open to the public.
